Home / Services / Vinyl Boat Wraps
A vinyl boat wrap changes the colour or graphics of your hull without paint. Marine vinyl goes on above the waterline: full hull colours, accent stripes, printed graphics, boat names and registration numbers, all fitted to the shape of your boat.
Owners wrap boats for the same reasons they wrap vehicles. It costs less than a quality marine paint job, takes the boat out of service for less time, and comes off when you sell or change your mind. Underneath, the film shields the gelcoat from sun, dock rash and the small scrapes that collect over a season.
What you get
- Hull colour changes in gloss, matte and metallic marine films
- Stripes, printed graphics and custom designs along the hull
- Boat names, hailing ports and registration numbers in cut vinyl
- Film rated for marine use above the waterline
- Gelcoat protection against UV fade, light scratches and chafe marks
- A finish that can be removed later without harming the surface under it
- Design proofed on the profile of your boat before printing
Who it is for
Owners of fishing boats, bowriders, cruisers and pontoons who want a new colour or a freshened hull. Charter and rental operators whose boats should carry their branding. Sellers who want a tired hull to present well without a paint bill.
How it works
- Quote. Tell us the make, model and length of the boat, and what you want changed. Photos of both sides help us price the job accurately.
- Design proof. Colours are confirmed from film samples, and graphics are proved on your boat's profile so names and stripes sit where they should.
- Print. Graphics and names are printed or cut, laminated where needed, and checked before the boat comes in.
- Install. The boat comes to our Mississauga shop on its trailer. The hull is cleaned and prepped, and film is applied above the waterline, worked around rails, cleats and through-hull fittings.
- Pickup. We walk the hull with you, check edges and seams, and explain washing and what to watch for at the dock.
Questions
Does the wrap go below the waterline? No. Wrap film is an above-waterline product. The bottom of the boat still needs proper bottom paint and antifouling care. The wrap covers the topsides, the part everyone sees at the dock and on the water.
How does vinyl compare with painting the boat? Paint is permanent, costs more, and keeps the boat out of service longer. A wrap gives the same change of colour for less, protects the original gelcoat while it is on, and can be removed for resale or a new look. For most owners who are not restoring a classic, it is the practical choice.
Can you wrap the boat while it is on its trailer? Yes, that is how most jobs are done. The boat comes to the shop on its trailer, where we can work around the full hull in a clean, dry space. Talk to us about timing if your boat is in the water for the season.
