Wrap Questions, Answered
Straight answers on van wrap cost, timing, lifespan, paint safety, removal and washing, from the Mississauga shop wrapping vehicles across Toronto and the GTA.
Short answers to the questions we hear before a wrap is booked. Anything more specific to your vehicle, ask through the quote form or call 416-708-5256.
What will it cost to wrap my van?
The price follows the job: the size of the vehicle, how much of it is covered, the film chosen and how much design work is involved. Cut lettering on a cargo van and a full wrap on a high-roof Sprinter sit at opposite ends of the scale, so every vehicle is quoted on its own. Send the year, make and model plus the coverage you have in mind, and the quote comes back as a real number for that vehicle.
How long does the whole job take?
Design and proofing happen first, and nothing moves until you approve the artwork. Printing follows, then the install itself, which varies with the vehicle's size and how much of it is being covered. Most single vehicles are measured in days rather than weeks, all told. For fleets, vehicles are usually done in rotation so the business keeps working while the set is completed.
How long will a wrap last?
With normal use and reasonable care, a wrap can serve five years or more. How it is treated matters: a van that is hand washed and parked indoors will hold its looks longer than one that lives outside and runs through brush washes. Vertical panels generally outlast flat ones like roofs and hoods, which take the worst of the sun.
Will a wrap damage my vehicle's paint?
On sound factory paint, no. The film sits on the surface and shields it from stone chips, road salt and sun, and when the wrap is removed the paint underneath is in the condition it was covered in. The exception is paint that is already failing: rust, peeling clear coat or loose respray work can lift with the film. We look the vehicle over first and flag any areas like that before starting.
Can the wrap be removed later?
Yes. Wrap film comes off with heat and patience, and removal is part of what the shop does. That is why wraps suit leased vehicles, short contracts and businesses that rebrand: the vehicle can go back to plain, or carry a new design, without a trip to a paint shop.
Can I bring my own design?
You can. Print-ready artwork is welcome, and we will check it against the actual panels of your vehicle before anything is produced. If all you have is a logo, or just an idea, our designers will build the layout with you. Either way, you approve a proof drawn on your vehicle's shape before printing begins.
Should I choose a full wrap, a partial wrap or lettering?
A full wrap covers every panel: the strongest branding and a complete colour change. A partial wrap brands the main sides and rear while keeping some factory colour in the design, which brings the cost down. Lettering is the simple end of the scale: your name, logo, phone number and services in cut vinyl. All three make a work vehicle look deliberate; the right choice is the one that fits the vehicle and the budget.
Which vehicles do you wrap?
Vans are the specialty: cargo vans, Sprinters, cube vans and step vans. Beyond that, pickups, box trucks and straight trucks, semis and trailers including 53 ft units, Jeeps and SUVs, cars, buses and boats. If it has panels that film can follow, ask us about it.
How do I wash and look after a wrap?
Hand washing with a soft cloth and mild soap is the safe routine. Keep pressure washers back from edges and seams, skip automatic brush washes, and wipe off fuel spills and bird droppings rather than letting them sit. In the first days after an install, go gently: the film is still settling, and we will tell you exactly when normal washing can start.
Can you match the wraps across my whole fleet?
Yes, and that is the normal way fleet work runs. Your design is kept on file, so the second vehicle and the twentieth are printed from the same artwork, with colours and layout matched even when the models differ. When you add a vehicle, the job starts from the saved design rather than from zero.
Do you wrap leased vehicles?
Regularly. Because the film is removable, a leased van can carry your branding for the whole term and go back with its original finish at the end. It is worth checking your lease paperwork for any conditions about vehicle graphics, but the wrap itself is not a permanent change.
What do you need from me to get started?
The vehicle's year, make and model, a photo or two if you have them, and whatever artwork exists, even if it is only a logo file. Tell us what the vehicle needs to say: name, phone number, services and the areas you serve cover most of it. That is enough for a quote and a first design conversation.
